Fright Night

Halloween started off, fairly uneventful. Craig winterized the yard, we took in some lunch, we carved our pumpkins.

But right when we were getting kids in costumes, hair and make-up done...BAM! A fierce wind blew in, bringing thunder, lightning, rain and hail with it.

As parents, we did all we could to console upset and disappointed children. "It might blow over," "We'll still make it a fun night!"

To no avail. A bawling Indiana Jones, with tears streaking through his "stubble", was convinced Halloween was ruined!

Well, about thirty painful minutes later, the wind died down, the rain and hail stopped, and the clouds lifted.

Trick-or-treating was back on the agenda! And it turned out to be a very fun night after all, even with the fright!

I should have waited until it was darker to take these pictures. They don't do the pumpkins justice!

It was a pretty nasty storm that would have dashed any child's hopes of trick-or-treating. I'm glad it cleared out, though. It would've been a shame to not see your kids in costume.

We had those same weather problems. But it did make the night more creepy and fun :) The costumes are darling!
