As is the tradition, we colored eggs on Friday night, in preparation for our yearly trip down to the Oak City sand dunes. However, there was to be no sand dune excursion because of the huge rain storm that came Saturday morning. But the eggs were colored anyway (mainly because I needed some for devilled eggs on Sunday and also because Harrison would have been crushed if we hadn't done it).
My parents stopped by as we were coloring eggs, and grandpa had the great idea to let Addi try her hand at Easter egg dyeing. This is what ensued:
An egg is handed to Addi.
Grandpa tries to "help" her gently put the egg in the dye.
Addi doesn't understand "gently" so she throws the egg.
It misses the dye (thank goodness) and lands on the table with a lovely "CRACK"
All while Mom (me) is trying to catch the Kodak moment and ends up with this picture:
The egg was just out of sight...but isn't that picture just awesome?! After that, Addi would have nothing to do with the eggs. I think grandpa scared her a little with his reaction. So we ended up with 23 colored eggs and 1 white, cracked egg that made a very delicious devilled egg.
Easter Sunday found us all dolled up for church. We enjoyed a wonderful Easter church service where, of course, the focus was on what it should be on. We are so grateful for our Savior, Jesus Christ. (Click on the link, scroll down a bit and watch the video).
We then spent the rest of the evening at my parent's house for Easter dinner and the annual Easter egg hunt for the kids, a true highlight in any one's mind. It really is the best Easter egg hunt ever because each kid gets their own color of egg to hunt for, so you can cater it to their age as far as difficulty goes, and because they all get the same amount.
We hope everyone had as wonderful an Easter weekend as we did!

I love that pic of your dad and Addi-what a great moment huh?! Pretty sure we had to eat our two (or 4) broken eggs tonight because Nate thought they were balls and banged them together! Oops!
BAHAHAHAHA!!!! I die laughing every time I look at that picture!! It will forever be a classic :)
